Of course, the last bottle in the case is the best. Nice bottle that both seems surprisingly youthful in color and berry scents yet also full of mature notes and (quite frankly) fading a touch. It doesn't have those telltale "old" or "over the hill" flavors but it's clear it isn't hiding a lot to be revealed. Definitely drink up and enjoy.

This wine must have been perfectly cellared because it still showed up with a lot. No more remaining fruit, but tons deep dark red cherry with tobacco mid note and slightly funky finish. If you have any, drink now! But plan and nice meal. We had filet and it paired beautifully. Like Elvis in 73 Vegas.

Deep youthful color. Nose is stewed blackberries and dirt. Palate is dark fruits and a bit of spice (cinnamon?). I’d call the plentiful tannins “dusty” but that works only if that adjective can include a TON of dust (maybe “fine grained chunky” is more apt). The tannins don’t overpower the ripe New World ripe black fruit, but you’ll certainly notice them, especially in the puckering finish. After it’s been open a few hours, the tannins oddly settle down a bit. There is some older cedar and leather notes. There’s also a nice dollop of back-of-the-palate spice and fruit suggesting that it could evolve into something interesting. Nevertheless, I wouldn’t sit on this bottle. I like this wine but it just makes me crave a less fruity Bordeaux for basic food preparations like I prefer. But it would probably pair amazingly with a glazed grilled beef or pork dish. If you like mature New World Bordeaux blends, drink this now.

Similar to last bottle, though less cherry/fruit. Lots of leather/tobacco. Drinking well, but would drink over next 5 years.

Similar to the 7/18 bottle. Lots of chocolate and black fruits! Drink up!
