Delicious black cherry and plum fruit up front, with a healthy dose of “Tuscan dust” and a touch of garrigue-like lavender. A rich and complex, umami-laden mid-palate, with leather and tobacco tones. This one has plenty of tannic structure, indicating that it’s going to hang in there for the long-haul, but it is drinking beautifully right now. It’s hard to resist!

Sangiovese Study at Planque (Planque London UK): Concentrated, earthy, smokey and herbal on the nose with red cherry and strawberry fruits noted lightly by herbs and wild grasses. The palate is round and chalky in texture with red and light red fruits all savory and slightly roasted. Great spicy length. Delicious.

The prior note from kohada is spot on. Tight initially, becomes more enjoyable with air. Has an earthy, dusty quality to it and a complex finish. Nice pair with marinara sauce and pasta.

Needs air at this time. Dried cranberry/cherry aspect, trail-mix-y quality to it, firm tannin and acid without being overwhelming in either aspect, maintaining a sort of smooth, elegant quality despite its firmness.
Showed much better an hour after opening, as the tannin relaxes and the fruit becomes more giving. Delicious, well made wine but its best days are ahead.

90% Sangiovese, 5% Canaiola, 5% Colorino. Drinks like a Chianti Classico on steroids! Intense fruit flavors. cherry, raspberry, leather, tobacco, earthy notes, balsamic.
