Opened and let sit for an hour. Garnet color. Nose offers chery and mushroo.s with touch of lesther. Good fresh ess although the fruit is fading a bit. Shows some latjer and mushroom notes along with dark cherries. Good acidity. Quite lovelt yet in a retrained style. 13%abv.

Sangiovese study, Volume II (Chicago, IL): The ripe vintage is treated very well here. This is a fruit-forward, juicy wine, and the profile does turn a mix of red and black, but it never shows overripeness or a lack of acidity. Structurally quite large, with the fruit built around a big tannic frame, but easy to enjoy now because of the sheer amount of fruit.

Pergole Torte Vertical tasting (Freiheit Vinothek, Ulm, Germany): Glass: Zalto Universal and Burgundy Tasted blind. Clear, deep ruby-garnet color. Fine fruity nose with some tobacco leaves. A more finer and elegant version of the previous wine (2010). Even though it has upscale potential, it is ready for the show. Round, precise, warm ripe fruit. Long. Nice. 93+

March Madness Wine Tasting: Served blind. Great wine from start to finish. Asian spices, sweet and long finish. I really enjoyed this wine! For me, top 3 wines in the blinded line-up.

Really drinking well tonight - seamless and expansive on the palate, with red and black fruit. I have more of this in the cellar, but it’s hard to imagine it will get any better.
