(Château Lagrange (St. Julien)) From magnum: Medium red violet color; focused truffle, plum and black fruit nose; great, youthful, tart black fruit, tart bery, graphite and pencil lead palate; medium-plus finish 94+ pts. (best Lagrange I've ever tasted)

Winedoctor

(Chateau Lagrange St Julien) Dark, glossy hue. The nose has dark, smoky fruit. It's quite intense, and only with a little air does it reveal a very mild cork taint. It is very faint, insufficient to strip all the dark, smoky fruit character from the wine. Ripe grippy tannin, full and rich. Lovely length. This is a wine with great potential - if other bottles aren't corked, obviously! I will award a tentative score - a taint-free bottle may show even better.

Vintage Tastings

A Mega 1990 Bordeaux Tasting with Clive, 3/21/2005 93 points

(Lagrange) which had a classic nose of cedar, earth and tobacco, with secondary animal and cassis. The wine was a touch roasted, with long and fine t .n a in its nose. There were good earth, tobacco and cedar flavors. Clive only gave it 16, but the wine was solid and more than very good, and it got better and held well
