  • Pale yellow.
Aromas of lemon oil, roasted almond, mushroom, wet stone, orange blossom and peach.
    Slightly viscous and powerful mouthfeel.
Intense yet juicy lemony acids and succulent gingery bitterness.
Palate of grapefruit, candied orange, oyster shell, winter apple and hazelnut.
A generous yet utterly pure and complex wine with ripe yellow fruit, fabulous bittersweet crisp acidity and a finish with ocean and mushroom minerality.

  • pas une pointe d'oxydation. vin peu expressif mais qui gagne un peu à l'aération. bel équilibre mais un certain manque de densité et tension.

  • Its great to find a white burgundy from the 2000s that has matured correctly. This bottle opened perfectly with a pale green gold colour and a fragrant nose of Nashi pear, white peach, yuzus and touches of lime and citrus flowers. The palate shows quite rich fruit characters of citrus and stone fruits backed by a persistent backbone of grape tannin, chalky minerality and a fine line of acidity. There's a touch of buttered cashew and honey as characteristics of maturity but plenty of freshness that suggests properly stoppered and cellared this should continue to develop positively.

  • I had 6 of these and unfortunately 3 were flawed (pre-mox). Thankfully the last one was perfect and that’s the one I will remember. Well described by many below I have added another point to the various 94 ratings as I think it was that good and special. However, caveat emptor, the number of flawed listings here indicate an issue.

  • I just noticed that I hadn’t entered a note. This was an exceptional bottle of mature WB, perhaps not ultra classic or nuanced as the greats can be, but a wonderful drinking experience. Thankfully, no signs of PREMOX whatsoever. We drank it at a lavish dinner and the wine got better and better as the evening went on and it came close to room temperature.

(Bouchard Père et Fils Corton-Charlemagne) Fine, focused, linear fruit and some minerality on the nose. This was harvested quite late as the Bouchard vines sit high on the hill. Wow - the mid-palate concentration is exceptional here. The length is understated in flavour - quite mineral - but lingers fantasticly.
