Mildly corked. One could still see the Chaignots character, especially in the mouth -- probably 93 poiints for a pristine bottle. Cellared since original release.

What a pretty Chaignots, that is still showing beautifully pure fruit and is totally in the zone already. Nice ruby color, pretty much jumping out of the glass with notes of sweet and sour red cherries, some strawberries, but there is also a musky/animalic element I sometimes find in Chaignots that makes it particularly mysterious and appealing. There is also a subtle spiciness and some minerality, as well as some violets/flowery note, overall pretty complex aromatics. It‘s medium+ bodied, but with excellent persistence, it has medium-high acidity providing nice tension and some medium- tannin that is there but very well integrated already. Pretty long finish. A lovely Chaignots from this excellent producer and already drinking really nicely.

Brought to dinner at Goldener Hirsch in Deer Valley, UT. The wine was red fruited with cranberry and black cherry, touch of five spice on the finish. Great weight and depth, with some subtle bottle development already. Quite nice.

An excellent young NSG. Everything is in place and it should have a long life ahead of it. Already very delicious and satisfying. A good relative value from Zachys at the sale price of $91.

The Verticals Tasting at 2023 La Paulée (Eventi Hotel, New York): Light ruby. Fruit and faint menthol. Light weight, subtle, fluid red and blue fruit and soil. Lingering earthy finish. Another winning 2017 in a lighter style. Best of the 3 vintages here.
