nose - orange peel, pumpkin, caramel mouth - apricot, and still fresh with good acidity though beginning to acquire bit of a sherried quality. An impressive showing for a 30 year old white, and a stellar pairing with Alexander-the-great's lotus leaf wrapped chicken.

Fully evolved. Golden yellow color with some oxidation Lots of bracing acidity keeps this fresh. Paired very well with Paella. After some time the nuances and round mouthfeel came out more prominently

Dry mineral driven wine. Slight notes of oxidation. Evolved and improved over an hour. Very nice wine The wine looks yellow gold colored. The legs are medium. There is no sediment in the bottle. It smells like orange, pear, dust, flint and sherry. The body is medium. The wine has silky texture. The wine finishes long. The wine has medium acidity.

As good as the June bottle. This is a blockbuster of a wine. In the glass is sports a crystaline golden yellow hue. On the palate it shows superb acidity and balance with a focused palate and lengthy finish. Simply an amazing wine.

(Viña Tondonia Reserva Blanco) From R. López de Heredia—a producer often described as painfully traditional, but whose wines truly offer a highly individualistic glimpse into the past—this white Reserva generally sees at least four years in cask. The golden-colored 1989 is highly complex, offering pear, honey, and waxy notes and a nutty, oxidative edge, followed by weighty, fresh flavors with great minerality. Surprisingly youthful, this is well worth the search. Rioja: Still the Benchmark for Spanish Wine
