Oysters, Shabu Shabu, Chablis, and Burgundy (San Francisco): Medium yellow. A bit of sulfur, oyster shell, and broth. Middle weight but incredible palate presence and unstoppable penetration. It tastes like more of a primordial mix than the product of a grape with its ringing acidity rather than fruit leading the way. Great wine underscoring the fact that we haven't seen this kind of old style, pure, classic Chablis vintage since 1996. It made an outstanding 2014 Droin Valmur tasted alongside it seem positively soft by comparison. It's been almost exactly 10 years since I last tasted the '96 Clos, and inexplicably, brilliant bottles such as this one somehow seem frozen in time.

11th of 12, opened 20 minutes, cork half soaked, perfect level, as last bottle noted in March 19, just starting to show fade accentuating acidity, downside from here. F+ (18).

The nose is heady on citrus and wet stone. A small herbaceous aspect will emerge over the aeration.
On the palate, the attack is full-bodied. The substance is dense, with a nice "fat" and just the right amount of tension to give wine to a very convincing ensemble. The very intense finish on the truffle with a big length impressed me a lot, I cannot say if it is usual on Chablis.
it was an excellent bottle!

electrifying, so long, complex, still early, left me speechless

Tasted blind, this wine had a deep yellow center and clear rims. The medium+ intensity nose put forth citrus, honey, white stone, and cooked apples.
In the mouth, this wine was ripe with great acidity and length. It seemed to stay strong, and maybe improve, with many hours of air.
This seems to be in the early part if its drinking zone. Enjoy! (95-96)
