France Trip: Paris, Champagne, Burgundy; 9/3/2023-9/17/2023 (Paris, Champagne, Burgundy): Ultra pale gold color. Split bottle between the four of us at Bistrot des Grand Crus. This was a pristine bottle, and absolutely stunning. The hallmark of elegance and power in a perfect proportion on both the nose and palate. Such floral notes, wow, very flinty, lemon, lemon zest, oyster shell, and purity. This is so focused. Sadly, words just won't do this justice. Wow, wow, wow!

A bottle drunk at home over three evenings during which it barely budged. Quite deeply coloured but with no hint of premox. Classic, quintessential Chablis - in my opinion Grand Cru Chablis does not get much better than this. Dense, powerful and still quite primary, this Les Clos seems destined for a long life. Structure matched by persistent citric intensity. Grippy green-fruited phenolics. Chalky minerality and great length, finishing clean and dry. Enjoyable now, if a little austere, I'd expect it to slowly unfold over the next 15-20 years. 96+.

Startet up with hints of ox and was quite reductive. Opened up with air and temperature but not a good bottle. N/R
