Classic Grand Cru Chablis drinking at its peak. Relatively deep gold, but no sign of premox. At age 12, appropriately oxidised and evolved. A lime and wet limestone infused perfume with pears, lanolin and hints of jasmine. Beautifully proportioned and balanced. Mineral and citric with refreshing acids. Depth and concentration. Powerful but with suave, satiny mouth presence. Lime, green apple and crushed granite. Give it 3-4 hours open to unfurl. The last glass, drunk a day later, was the most open and best. Drink or hold. I'm confident it'll age gracefully over the next 20+ years.

In Den Doofpot (Leiden, NL): Took a bit to open up and remained shy. Beautiful though, but not as impressive as I’d hoped. Almost understated in style, very Chablis with various shades of lemon, grapefruit, wet stone, minerality, chalkiness. High acidity, long finish

2018 Dauvissat Family Chablis Tasting (Seattle): This bottle was from a friend's cellar, he purchased it upon release and cellared it under ideal conditions. Incredible intensity, in aromas, flavor, mouthfeel and still so youthful. No rush to drink these if you are lucky enough to be sitting on a bunch of them. But if you do open one now, they taste every bit as enjoyable as their price would indicate.

Wine gathering at RJ's; 4/4/2023-4/7/2023 (South Carolina): Medium expressive nose displaying concentrated coiled yellow citrus fruit, lemon curd, lemon oil, saline, cream, lanoline, spicy spices and crushed rocks. Excellent concentration, slightly coiled super concentrated yellow fruit, rich, dense and deeply toned but also showing perfect precision and focus, bright acidity, strong limestone mineral, and a long concentrated yellow citrus fruit driven finish with a hint of saline and lanoline at the end. This clearly displays the concentrated vintage character and the classic old school Chablis style of Dauvissat.

Good, but wanted more, this was fleshy and ripe with a very good flavor profile, but I simply wanted more tension and lift as it felt a bit too round for my taste.
