Sipping this 2008 Bollinger Champagne RD on a sunny Sunday afternoon is a joy. 😊 I’m a Napa nut and don’t know much about bubbles (other than I like them), but this one dazzles with lively effervescence and rich flavors. Crisp apples, dried apricots, subtle hints of baking spices, a whisper of fresh berries. Mmm-mmm! Its finish is long and satisfying.

Rich and broad, but not nearly as giving as the bottle of 2012 LGA I had last week. Surprisingly restrained. Maybe it needs more time? Will try again tomorrow but not sure if it's worth the premium for me.

blind This time a bit "disappointing". The finish is a bit blurred. Some herbal notes and you feel the "heavieness" of the PN. I guessed right. The first bottle reminded me to a CdM. This is far away from that gem. 94

Flickinger Tasting at The Casino (Chicago, IL): Must admit I didn't really like (or maybe understand) this. There are sherried, oxidative notes here, but the wine is very fresh and acid-driven on the palate. Overall, this is neither here nor there and isn't the sort of Champagne I'm personally looking for.
