Showing a glimpse of what it can be, but still too young. Already sweet but still compact. You can taste the immense spiced fruit core and the nose is already sexy, but definitely not ready yet. 15 more years to glory.

Tight and austere; nowhere near ready. My fault for opening this but it simply wasn't revealing its charms, even on day 2. I'd give it 7-10 more years.

Heavily reduced on the nose. Matty G thought it was reductive and seductive. There’s some punch from the whole bunch. It is sweet and smoky. The palate is rich and velvety with waves of red and black fruits caressing the gums. There’s good acid line and persistence.

12/21/2018 - Alex G. Likes this wine:
Holiday Burgundy Lunch - Rousseau, Leroy, DRC, Ramonet, d'Auvenay (Scottsdale, Arizona USA): A dark and delicious monster of a wine. Tannins were happily not obstructing the enjoyment, although clearly this wine will improve with some more time to soften. Deep fruit and goes down easy, could drink a gallon of this in a flash.
