Really nice dark fruit with out any stewed notes. Bright in the mouth, very well balanced. A very nice wine, drinking quite well now. I might have guessed a 1er cru.

Still bearing dark cherry core with light evolution on the rim. While the ripeness of the vintage clearly shows on the fruit profile (almost stewed fruit), there's a severity on the palate with a firm finish. Nice tobacco notes but the fruit is lacking clarity, again because of the almost stewed fruit. Still, an enjoyable Gevrey.

Absolutely stunning burgundy. The upfront ripeness of '97 really comes through here. Juicy bing cherry, flowers, cloves, great acid, the whole package. Still drinking incredibly well, but I doubt this would improve more. An absolute pleasure.

Seriously alive and kicking! The perfumed nose of cherry, pine needle and licorice wafted out of the bottle immediately after the cork was pulled. Fine transparent dark red robe showing very little age for a 15 year old wine. The medium body palate showing tart cherries, leather and anise really opened up after 1/2 hour of air. Tannins are still present but unobtrusive. So glad to have drunk this. My only regret, I didn’t buy more! Insane qpr!

Smooth finish. Some fruit showing. Acidity still present. Very nice.
