Very aromatic. Fennel and fennel seeds, eucalyptus. Fruity, but not much tannin. Need to drink up but still very good. A bit acidic. My last bottle and good to drink up.

Dark ruby almost throughout. Strong fennel scent. Light to medium body. Not surprising after smelling it, lots of green herb flavors but lovely, fresh red fruit as well. Fine earthy base and fading tannins. Poised, elegant, and remarkably fresh for a 28 year old wine. Excellent, understated Gevrey Grand Cru that is very enjoyable now even if it is missing the wow factor.

A bit of discolouration around the rim, quite dark core. Aromatic nose, red/dark fruit, spices, herbs, earth. On the palate not very generous, very high acidity, not too much fruit, still grippy tannins which is a slightly worrying combination. Good intensity and length. Drink or keep. 89-90(+?)

Great aromatics. Some found that it only hit a few notes and didn’t evolve much. I agree, but it was one of the prettier wines of the tasting. Although stylistically quite different than the Vogue Bonne Mares, it seemed to garner the same reaction-a lovely experience to taste, but without the depth or complexity that wows.

Borderline undrinkable at Noble Rot by the glass. Stewed, alcoholic.
