2009 Larcis Ducasse. Saint Emillion Grand Cru. Color is rich with no bricking. Nose is lovely with graphite, earth, licorice, black currants, herb. Med-full body with still grippy tannins. Was cellared on release and drinking still quite youthful. Bitter cocoa and kirsch with a hint of camphor on the palate. Med + finish. While this is delicious, there is something on the mouthfeel I’d like to smooth out. 81% Merlot and 19% Cabernet Franc. 14.6% EtOH and I do feel a touch residual heat. Highly rated on release avg 95 pts but I’d say 92+

Last bottle was anomaly I guess because there is no sweetness in this bottle. Decanted 90 minutes and drank over another hour. Merlot & Can Franc are harmonious. This wine is perfect now for my palate. Will it get better? Not for me. Love the blend of fruit and tannins. If I had a bunch I’d drink in the next 12-18 months.
Second time with this bottle and this time things were much more in balance. I didn’t get any significant heat at all. Very lovely plum driven nose. Nice silky tannins. Plum, stone. Earth, black fruit. Tobacco. Enjoyed this a lot.

Dekantert. Mørk, meget pen, seriøs. Vidunderlig etterhvert.

C’est bon mais je m’attendais à ce qu’il soit davantage évolué avec l’âge. Encore solide, modérément tannique, encore primaire sur le fruit.
