The class of the reds for me, with a beautiful bouquet of ripe cherries and sweet herbs. Balanced, integrated, elegant with body, but not showing much length nor complexity at the moment. Overall, very good and a little shy of dazzling, could improve still. 92-93 pts.

Patience is a virtue. I don’t have much, but sometimes it happens. This is in a perfect spot to just drink it. It’s not the LSG or the Vaucrains, but it’s also a more elegant expression, even if it still has some of that Chevillon NSG austerity. Aromatics are all damp earth and dried flowers. The palate has red fruit, but it mostly asserts itself on the finish. After a couple of hours of air an touch of dried tobacco leaf creeps in to add another layer of complexity. Tannins are resolved, so it glides across the palate like Teflon. Perfect timing.

Lovely nose - red fruit, cherries, earth and spices. Wonderful sweet fruit, elegant and complex on the palate. Good concentration, nice tannic bite, fine acidity and length. Drinking very well, but no rush. 92-94

This was in perfect condition, so there's no concern about it being over the hill. It's not a jaw-dropping Nuits-Saint-Georges, but it is awfully nice. It went through a lifecycle of flavors and textures, as Burgundies tend to do. At first it was sharp and a little austere. Left open for a couple of hours, it found a sweet spot that lasted for a good while: soft, easy to drink, nice balance of berry flavors. The next day, this balance began to break apart, but I actually found that phase the most interesting. It became a little sharper, which made it more exciting to drink for me. The last sips were among the best.
