  • Dark ruby with a slight bricking rim, subdued nose of ripe plums. Lightly dry with moderate acid. Some cola, kale with a little bitter creeping in. It seemed to be a bit better on the PnP last night with fresher fruit. Starting to show it's age.

  • Dark ruby, funky barnyard nose. Dry fruity, a little sweet and sour with some bitter almond. Really complex flavors, fruity tannins, cough drop. Let' see where this goes with some air time. 87 on the PnP. After a couple of hours it's starting to come good, integrated with smooth mouth feel, nice red berry. Up a couple pts. This is just lovely tonight on day 2, bright fruit, soft acid and tannins with smooth mouth feel. Dirt, barnyard, leather, all the good stuff for a tart, funky wine with ripe cherries on the end. I do not think this bottle will survive the night. Cries out for food!

  • Medium ruby, bricking rim, ripe plums. Dry, lightly tart fruit and tannins, medium body and fruit, nice mouth feel, aged to a good place for drinking now, quite enjoyable though not too complex. Some tartness and good fruit on the finish. A good Chianti, a light weight Brunello. With some air time this is drinking nicely. This is getting really good with some more open time. Much more complex with leather, acid and tannins are in perfect balance. That bottle is history!

  • Medium ruby with tawny rim, ripe blackberry, black olive, cherry nose. Moderately dry, tart stony fruit, red plums, tart cherries, black olives. Medium body, smooth tannins, hint of tart bitter almond on the finish. With a little air becomes smoother, fairly well balanced with the acid, fruit and tannins. Good every day wine. night two, espresso & tobacco on the nose, tart juice, cranberry, blueberry, red currants. Bitter has been replaced by sour cherries and coffee, developed in a nice direction. Needs some food, but drinks well now on it's own.

  • Really, really good for the vintage. Lean and food friendly, this had a light, glowing russet color with notes of sour cherry, stone fruits, mineral, tobacco and spice. Ideal as an aperitif with charcuterie rather than with a hearty meal. Drink now.
