Nice. Probably on the latter end of the drinking curve. A touch of earthy spice shows itself beneath the fruit moreso than past bottles, but it's still a new world take on Syrah (and delicious).

Our previous bottle of this, tasted two years ago, was much too young to open. This bottle, tasted after a 3 hour decant, was delicious, and apparently just entering its drinking window. It presented generous mixed black fruits and acidity, along with the expected beef blood and olive brine. It was an outstanding bargain at $22 from Last Bottle; I should have bought many more. Drink 2018-2025.

This is developing nicely. Much smoother than bottle sampled seven months ago. Short decant. Dark, opaque color. Fresh black fruit nose and palate. Deep Syrah character (pepper, spice). Full body, integrated tannins with medium length finish.

With persian spiced lamb shanks. Chilled it a little extra before opening. This is completely hitting its stride, with nice savory notes of olive, meat--lots of beefy, bloody, smoky meat--and blackberries and something else. It's filled out, less St. Jo than C-R. I have one more left, and while there's no rush, I'm not going to wait forever as I don't see how this can get a whole lot better. Time to reload when I can find some of the more recent vintages.
