This bottle of 1997 William Fevre Chablis Les Preuses is more advanced than I would expect from a 1997 white Burgundy. Note: William Fevre only started introducing DIAM corks in 2007, and fully converted by 2010. Tasted blind – Matured yellow fruits, some damp cellar and musty smell. Ripe and big-boned but not refined. Funky and tasted like it was from the 80s. An advanced bottle of Batard Montrachet 1995? (77/100)

Muted green nose. Firmly structured with good acidity, but too much oak makes it rather broad and unexciting. Good length. 3
