What a venerable bottle - so much life still left in this, yet hard to imagine it could ever taste better than tonight. Red fruits through and through, minimal flavours to suggest this is 25 years old. Stupendous winemaking, and my last bottle - am unlikely to ever drink this wine again, alas.

Chambolle-Musigny les Amoureuses Dinner, Mostly Groffier (Boka - Chicago IL): Mature black cherry with big spice and a slightly floral start. Same fruit on palate with licorice, cloves and black pepper. Very well textured with lots of nuance and charm. Fascinating to serve this alongside the Groffier 1989 Bonnes Mares, with the group mostly narrowly preferring the Bonnes Mares.

Lieu-dit-Cru - Amoureuses Day dinner (Boka): Full red color. Big forward blcak cherry, mineral, and animal on the lifted nose. Mmmmn, deep ripe rich black cherry with almost licorice hints on the palate. Long firm finish. TInteresting to taste this next to the Bonnes Mares as I though the feminine/masculine duality of these two wines was quite evident. This was my WOTN and in a dead heat tie for group WOTN. 95-96 points.
