  • Decanted 90 minutes. Took to Florida for our trip. Drank alongside an 05 Haut Bailly, 15 Dominio de Aguila Reserva Ribera del Duero and Mayback Cab. Fruit is still too young for my taste but was far overshadowed by the 05 Haut Bailly. For sure Zbirdeaux with typical nose. Modern Bordeaux but all are now it seems. Need to leave remaining bottles for several years. Great QPR though,

  • PnP and drank over 90 mins. Lovely fruit and nice secondary flavors, seems like it will improve in coming years. Saved some for following evening and was not as excited.

  • A precious fruit laden nose, very precise dark fruit, cassis, blackberry, plum, tobacco, chocolate and cedar. The palate very similar, with cassis/black currant being the most dominant fruit. Also some chocolate here, vanilla, medium tannins, medium acidity. Overall subtle and well integrated oak. Had a 2015 Chevalier yesterday and I like this better. Still youthful, but already in the early drinking window. Excellent, especially the fruit. The more Margaux I drink the more I realize that I am a big fan of the appellation. 94-95

  • Disappointing for the price. Lacked complexity in my opinion.

  • Delving into the nuances of the 2014 vintage in Margaux, Château Malescot St. Exupéry presents itself as a unique expression of the climatic challenges faced that year. The 2014 conditions demanded meticulous vineyard care, and this Bordeaux blend reflects both the distinctiveness of the vintage and the artisanal touch of the estate.

With a rich garnet pour, this wine entices with a medley of aromas—blackcurrant, black cherry, and delicate notes of cedar and violets. The nose mirrors the cooler vintage, exhibiting a measured elegance that prioritizes aromatic finesse over extravagant opulence.

On the palate, Malescot St. Exupéry 2014 unfolds a mosaic of flavors—dark berries, subtle plum nuances, and a touch of graphite. Refined tannins contribute to the wine's structure without overshadowing its fruit, showcasing a poised equilibrium indicative of thoughtful cellar decisions.

A notable trait lies in the wine's potential for maturation. While currently delightful, the structural elements and lively acidity suggest a promising evolution over the next 7-10 years. This bottle beckons patience, promising added layers of complexity as time weaves its influence.

In essence, Château Malescot St. Exupéry 2014 unveils a chapter in Margaux's 2014 vintage, epitomizing the estate's dedication to crafting wines of finesse and enduring allure. An appealing choice for those who savor the Bordeaux artistry and relish the anticipation of a wine unfurling its full character
