This was amazingly alive, and can likely go on for longer. Tertiary, of course. Tons of cigar box, leather, smoke and violet. A real treat. What i most enjoyed was the balance - well integrated tannins and acid, with the stewed fruit. Definitely benefited from a relatively short decanting.

Shared my last bottle with friends at a dinner. Drinking beautifully. No decanting needed. Very pleasant on the noise and balanced with sweetness on the palate. Very enjoyable!

Decanted for 3 hours. Drinking beautifully now. Has lightened up, but still remains floral on the noise and light white limestone on the palate. Continued to open up over the course of dinner. Absolutely epic!

Needed a "A" back up plan for the 82 Lafite that was lower fill. This was the best 82 Pavie I have had in many years. It reminded me of why I loved it back during the early peak window. Serious bottle variation over last 4 tasted. This one was the best and great timing for an incredible dinner at 1862. Beautful example of this with the fruits of old but more refined and slighly faded but definitely present and just delightful secondary and tertiiary elements and a gorgeous mouthfeel. Denser in color and feel from last few. 97

Always nice when a 40 year old Claret shows its grandeur. Beautiful and complex nose with all the tertiary elements, great Bordeaux have. Tasted blind, half the group placed it in the left bank.
