Went down to our cellar to retrieve a 2012 Kosta Browne pinot and came across the 1992 Domaine Drouhin pinot that we thought was all gone. Curiosity won out and we opened the . What a wonderful surprise (especially reading earlier tasting notes and pro reviews). Garnet red color, initial aromas were mostly sous boise covering red berry fruit, after 60-90 minutes the fruit became dominent in the nose and on the palate, very smooth, perfect balance, no tannins, medium length fruit finish. One of the most enjoyable wines we have had this year. Purchased upon release and stored at 55 degrees since. Wish we had another bottle!

Lots of bricking with almost brown color. Nose with a wonderful mushroom aroma. Palate has plenty of dried fruit and plenty of acidity, but rather simple and thins out on the finish. Clearly a tired wine but very interesting. Preserves its Oregon roots.

Drank alongside an 1992 DDO pinot, this bottle had fresh fruit, surprising acidity, and unbalanced alcohol. Not much in terms of complexities as my previous bottle nearly a year ago. Ahh the variation of aged wine. Disjointed, it was teetering on the verge of collapse or perhaps its just stirring in a beautiful coffin.

Hauntingly beautiful. Thoroughly elegant chock full of secondaries. Gorgeous. This bottle was drinking well for the 2-3 hours in bottle being finished.
