Läder, ek, höstlöv, en massa ålderstecken men även en hint jordgubbssylt och Karlssons klister. I det närmaste obefintliga tanniner men en hög syra. Höstlöv, jordgubbar och en lång kvardröjande rödbärig syrlighet. Inte så tokigt.

Over-age. Somewhat vinegary taste. Not pleasant The wine looks purple colored. The legs are fast. There is light sediment in the bottle. It smells like acetic acid. The body is light. The wine has coarse texture. The wine finishes short. The wine has high acidity.

Comme quoi la patience est souvent récompensée. La moitié des dégustateurs était en Bordeaux fin '80 ou dans les '90! J'ai entendu de tout, sauf Rhône Nord.. Profondeur++ autant au nez qu'en bouche. Est-ce qu'avec le temps le profil typé Rhône Nord se serait estompé? (Car bcp de commentaires ci-dessous vante sa typicité.) J'aurais payé le double, voire le triple pour cette qualité!

Upon opening, a fair bit of bottle stink and sulphur apparent. Angular and acidic on the palate. Poured through an aerator into a jug and let it sit for 1/2 an hour. The stink dissipated and the wine changed quite appreciably, becoming softer and smoother. Had that typical iron character that Graillot often has. A really nice old bottle of Syrah.

A lot of stink upon opening but after 30 minutes this was showing a hint of pepper and bacon - nicely mature, if unexciting. A decent drop.
