Holy Moly this bottle last night was pristine, much more open and expressive than any other bottle of Graillot CH I've had. Loads of strawberry jam and dried strawberries on the nose, giving way to the more typical aromas of olive, bacon fat, black pepper that you'd expect from Northern Rhone. Seems to be some bottle variation or maybe biodynamic wine drinking is a thing after all. Most other bottles I've popped are a bit shy or muted on opening and sometimes lacking concentration, but not last night's.

Showed really nicely and opened up well over a few hours (no decant). At first it was enjoyable but a bit generic - after about 45min it started to really reveal itself as syrah (blue fruited, with some wonderful snarl). Approachable and very pleasant, tannins very friendly.

dark as night, youthful rim. on the nose blood and meat and olives and dark fruit... anything else in there is obliterated by those smells. on the palate this thing is a hot mess... very high acids. big midpalate that is very clunky, loads of super square and coarse tannins. no balance, ok length, loads of intensity, no real complexity. no finesse, a really rough texture, says cool climate syrah but would never guess crozes. this needs a lot of tiime... do not touch for 3-5 years. will not put a number on this yet.

Smoked meat, rosemary, and great acidity make this wine a delight! Every time I drink Graillot I am just happy, definitely need some more!
