Medium garnet in color, virtually no bricking. Notes of tart cherries, pomegranate with plenty of fruit left, earthy, forest floor. Medium acidity, medium tannins. Very long tart finish. A lovely wine for sure.

An Epic Summer Wine Weekend - Year 2; 6/30/2023-7/2/2023 (Muskoka, Ontario, Canada): [Tasted Single Blind] This pours light garnet in the glass with light bricking. The nose is lifted and complex showing seaweed, sea spray, granite, pomegranite, strawberry, animal fur, and dried light cherry. The palate is lovely, entering on lifted red and citrus fruit yet is still somewhat structured with medium minus tannin and medium acid, especially compared to the 1980 earlier this evening. The finish is just lovely and long with gorgeous savory saline and seaweed elements. Really spectacular showing.

Horse saddle, red fruit, mushrooms, forest floor, strawberry, slightly musty, and sweat notes on the nose. Good acidity and balance with tart cherries, red fruit, and more forest notes on the palate. Nice finish. Very good and fully mature right now. This continued to improve with air and although I slightly preferred a bottle opened a few months ago, this got very close after an hour or so in the glass.

Intronizzation Night for Rhone (Lafayette): Not so detailed notes as this was drunk during the ceremony but it's in a lovely spot right now. Surprised honestly at the age although there is a certain lightness which might have been the winemaking of the time or might be the wine settling down a bit that isn't always in these. Going strong.
