Inviting, earthy nose of bright red fruit , forest floor, petrichor, leather, cola, pipe tobacco, and licorice, superbly balanced palate featuring loads of ripe red cherry and fresh raspberries supported by flavors of white pepper, cherry cola, clove, and cinnamon, full mouthfeel, creamy and supple, powdery tannins, very long finish with a bit of cinnamon heat at the conclusion. Perfect with Seared Duck, Potatoes fried in Duck Fat, and Roasted Broccoli.

It’s a wine I typically love, but it’s not yet showing those qualities. Right now it’s a solid, young Pinot Noir that covers the bases very well, but it doesn’t distinguish itself. Nothing wrong with drinking it now, but with a little more time it might come around to something better and more memorable.

Consistency is evident with this particular bottling, and ‘19 truly shimmers and glows. There’s tension, elegance and true sexiness. Cherry cola, wet earth, sassafras, crumbling rock and licorice. Feminine, but with some muscle and a well-framed, medium palate. The finish sails on and on. Even better than the gorgeous’18. So enjoyable today, yet has what is required to age. A little more transparent, with all of this wonderful staying power and a balanced middle. Drink now - 2032.
I live in Sonoma County and am surrounded by many a Pinot from Russian River Valley. This is almost post-modern in its feminine ways, yet has the requisite nuance and staying-power. It reminds me of a hybrid of both Sonoma Coast and Russian River Valley. Truly classic.
