Cherry, raspberry, sous bous, boysenberry, rich nose; full, rich, very extended, still with some fruit though faded, slightly unbalanced, but with some depth and pleasing to drink

Maison Dakota session. Drank in Gabriel Standart. Appearance deep intensity, garnet colour. Legs. Nose is clean, medium+ intensity, with aromas of spice, tobacco smoke, herbs, earth, stones & rocks, dried dark red cherries. Developed. On the palate, dry, high acidity, medium alcohol (13.2%), structured medium+ tannins, medium+ body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of spiced herbs, earth, tobacco smoke, dried dark red cherries, shrivelling red plum. Long finish. Good quality. Charming in an aged way. Fruit clearly drying up already. Time for folks like me that still want fruit to drink it up, and I may have appreciated it more maybe a few years earlier.

Very interesting bottle. Really nice red fruit that gave way to dark soil and Forrest floor flavors. Decanted just enough to get the sediment out. Very good, but may be near the end of its drinking window. Still drinking well at the moment!

Popped, decanted and poured.Primary fruit has largely faded, leaving smoky leather, forest floor and an intriguing blackberry back end.

Excellent wine. Very meaty, smoky and full bodied. Nose and palate were all firing. Really at its peak but with plenty of life left.
