  Wonderful nose of fresh strawberries and herbs. Again, fresh strawberries and a touch of dark fruits emerging on the palate. Medium ruby with no sign of age. Medium plus acidity with a weightless feel. Such an easy wine to drink. Still has more to reveal. The last bottle i had was 21 years ago. More power and dark fruit then. Look forward to trying it again in the future. Enjoy now with anything that has black truffles in it.

  1998 Bordeaux Horizontal - London (Sun Street Hotel, Liverpool Street, London): A generously opened backup. Served a little warmer than the other wines and had less time to breathe. Lovely nose of summer greenhouse with green bell pepper, tomato skin and basil pungency. Palate is cool fruited with some graphite and a little cigar box. A lot of similarities with a 1985 enjoyed earlier in the year. Excellent.

  Classic Pauillac. Purchased at local retail. This particular bottle could have gone on for at least ten more years. Excellent fill level and colour was still a little purple. It needed a good decant (6 hours or so) and really opened up into to a beautiful wine. Gorgeous tannins and acidity. Lingering finish. Lovely stuff! Very, very enjoyable!
