A beautiful pale-straw colour with glints of green. On the nose: classic mature Riesling. On the palate it is again very classic, with a superb balance of richness and fresh acidity, now well integrated, and with overtones of peach and apricot. Very elegant. Quite a long aftertaste.
There was no hint of oxidisation - quality Alsace Rieslings need six to ten years to come round, and this one still has plenty of life left. Superb!

Exhibit A for why aromatic whites should be drunk at or just below cellar temp; initially served too cold and fruit was completely hidden (nose had a burnt-rubber quality, while palate was all acidity) but when it warmed a few degrees, classic white peach and flowers emerged and restored balance; lacks the richness and length of Weinbach's better bottlings, but priced accordingly

Beautiful bottle tonight- rich, deep flavors but comes off as dry, perfect balance, a really stunning wine that has me thinking Clos Ste. Hune at 1/4 the price.

I love the balance of acid and sugar in this wine...tastes completely dry but the sugar gives it depth. Oxidation is creeping in so drink up. Very nice pairing with seafood.
