i'm having a very nice evening, thank you very much. my wife's cooking swordfish, it's cold outside here in scottsdale, and the fire is raging.
zeroing in on the elusive grape, as always. i'm stunned by this wine. i've had plenty of wines from this producer, but some of the more exotic one's remain in storage untried. nevertheless, cry me a river as i only have this one bottle. can a wine be powerful and subdued at the same time? 13.9% alcohol that is completely hidden. this has forest floor in a manner that i'm crazy about rather than overwhelmed by. i would label this a burgundian california pinot. full bodied, but true to the varietal. nothing satisfies me as finding a pinot that delivers (thanks, florida jim, for that descriptive). big thumbs up

Bright disc. Medium ruby with red/pink rim. Clean nose showing intense earth, smoke, black cherry and exotic spices. The palate is medium to full-bodied, with moderate supple tannins. Flavors are similar to the nose, with the addition of sweet plum. Long, slightly hot finish.

Chris and Brig's 2010 Wine Party; 6/19/2010-6/21/2010 (Our House): Pinot funk on the nose, I love it. Very nice dark tart fruit on the palate with a beautiful smooth perfect finish.
well done!
