nice phelps backus, still youthful with nice cherry / red fruit nose, darkish and full-bodied with cherry, boysenberry fruit palate and some nice acid to provide balance, also a little tannin but subtle… liked by all but not an OMG wine, wondering if this will be better in 5-7 years? (i love my 1980's Phelps Backus bottles these days)
Taste at Cut. Gorgeous showing. Really has some nice youthful qualities as a whole. Great plump cassis, a smoky meaty quality. Cotton candy and smooth milk chocolate. A finesse driven feminine styled wine. Love the Backus vineyard wines. Great 100% Cab alternative to Insignia.
