Starting to show some age and evolution though this still provides a ton of pleasure with mature fruit, brown sugar spice and stem spice. Nicely balanced throughout. Tail end of its peak window.

Somewhat clunky and defined from almost all angles by the influence of stems and the style of winemaking. But a perfectly enjoyable village wine. And I happily drank it at the end of the evening.

Impressions from first day. Reduced nose - almost a green cabbage smell - and tight and un-giving on taste with underlying concentration of flavors which did not come out on initial taste. Long saline finish. As it opened over the next 4 hours the nose had more floral components, with raspberry and blackberry notes. Some cumin or turmeric as well as sous bois. It started to unfurl as the night wore on. On taste the flavors started to come out with excellent concentration. Tannins there but integrated. Acid was in balance with the fruit. Very nice. Seemed quite primary for a 98.
