  • Quite suprised that it was still alive. It sprang striaght out of the glas with notes of candied fruit and a Nice smokiness. All in all a good experience and one to try if you like aged Wine.

  • PnP. Right out of the gate the nose was incredible. Savory notes of cranberry and raspberry, followed by rose pedals, earth, mushroom and balsamic glaze. The palate was a bit overwhelming. Very tart cranberry and cherry. Lots of acid. Luckily this improved a lot by day 2 and ended up being very tertiary with better balance overall.

  • Ok, so notes are very much the same as before and I am going to be less charitable. I have drunk through much of a case. The wine is certainly holding true and aging as per previous notes - so it’s not flawed in the normal sense. I just don’t get this wine; it is like a sour that you might get at a brewery. A poor use of the grape, IMO. Better with a double decanting and run through a vinturi. Yes it wild, wild and wacky - and just not a great wine.

  • Wild wine. Like with other Kalin Cellars wines the cork was very soft and I would use an Ah-So. Garnet color with pretty heavy bricking towards the rim. Super intense on the nose: cranberry raspberry and just a little bit of earthiness. On the palate TONS of tart cranberry which contributed to the acidity. I was worried about how it held up for 24 years but I now wish I had another bottle because it's gonna be able to go for another decade or more - absolutely had lost no fruit at all. High acidity, medium body, smooth finish. Honestly a fantastic experience. If I see another one I'm gonna snatch it up for sure.

  • Tasted blind. The nose is pretty bad with nail polish remover (VA), eucalyptus, a bit of red fruit, and a good amount of oak. Way too much acidity on the palate with red berries and tart cherries. Thankfully, the finish is short. No Pinot character whatsoever. This was horrible and I thought maybe we had a flawed bottle, but after reading some of the other reviews, this seems to be a flawed wine. Avoid!
