Another Saturday at Chevalier...Mostly Blind (Chicago, IL): Tasted double blind. Ripe, sweet fruit made this seem clearly new world, but a good touch of acidity gave this some Old World charm, even if it slightly threw off the balance. Ok overall. Drink up.

This was a little volatile and reductive when opened, although it did blow off with some air; The palate was pretty densely packed with sweet cherries, spice and a touch of earth, although the funky overtones did detract from it somewhat

Double decanted very quickly off its sediment and followed over five hours, though it took an hour or so wake up and reveal itself. Dark cherry, orange zest and macerated red plum with hints of spice, tea and forest floor underneath. Compared very favorably to a 1er Volnay that showed up.

Ripe, rustic and metallic. There are some stewed fruit on the palate. Doesnt taste like pinot at all.
