Community Tasting Notes (7) Avg Score: 90.1 points

  • 5th of 6, opened 30 minutes, perfect level, half travelled cork, much better than March bottle, attractive cherry and plum fruit, rich and nuanced with decent length and persistence, meaty, tannins largely resolved, velvet emerging, no rush, F (17.5).

  • 4th of 6, opened an hour, decanted 30 minutes, brown rimmed and tasting fully mature, flavours broadly as last note but less vigour to the fruit, slightly woody edge, can't see upside on basis of this bottle. VG (16)...but disappointing for what it is and in context of vintage NB the Mortet Lavaux knocks spots off it!

  • 3rd of 6, pnp, perfect cork and level, previous notes in 2009 and 2012 VG+ and VGI - deepish red, little development; Morello cherry and plum, touch of vanilla and iron, attractive; fullish, long, touch of unresolved tannin well matched by weight of slightly baked fruit, maybe a tad overextracted and modern, but not offensively so, mature but plenty of life, improved on opening as taken from cold cellar to replace corked LLC 95. Certainly F (17.5).

  • Sadly this wine is massively overoaked and overexracted. A one-dimensional flavor profile akin to a spoofed California Pinot Noir. What a shame to waste such good earth.

  • Lovely nose offering up ripe strawberry, coffee, spice, meat and sous bois. Delicious on palate with ripe soft fruit and well integrated soft tannins and mineral acidity. Mouth filling. Long finish.
