  • Fantastic bottle of wine. Beautiful nose and delicious palate. Oak is well integrated.

  • Popped and decanted in AM, double decanted and poured tasting amount into 2 glasses to further open before soup, bread, salmon and salad dinner. Lovely wine midway in masculin-feminine range. Red fruit, cocoa, cedar notes on palate. This seems to be a Tinto, not Crianza or Riserva, and with good aeration this offered the futuristic fresher, not-so-bold taste that I can’t wait 20 years for.

  • Beautiful fine tannins. Big powerful wine. Dark and brooding in the glass. Dark chocolate cake with cinnamon spice. Age has knitted constituents nicely toward full integration. Beautiful raspberry and red current fruit, but not overly sweet. Lovely long finsih with oak perfectly integrated into the juice. Lovely. Still lots of surprises to come I would guess.

  • With Joe and Wendy at their house, awesome steak dinner which gave me an excuse to open this. First bottle from batch purchased at auction a few years back. Double decanted 2 hours before drinking.

Deep purple color. Nose showing earth notes when first opened, evolving into dark berries, licorice, oak and floral notes. Palate showing red cherry, plums, cassis, herbs/spice though the mid palate. Medium bodied, long(ish) finish.

Seems to be at the beginning of a drinking window now. Interesting mix stylistically of classically Spanish characteristics with a more modern approach. Well balanced, oak a bit more prevalent. With this bottle the decant helped it show the nuance - would do 1-2 hours if venue allows...

    A boire.
