A bit reticent nose with currant leaf to lemon, melon and slight passion fruit richness. Dry, balanced and creamy with zesty lemon bite, floral touches and gooseberries. Surprisingly long finish. Not quite yet there, but getting better with age.
While making medallions of monkfish, I needed a white wine for my buerre blanc sauce so I thought I would use something that doesn't drink particularly well. The last few bottles I've tasted were simply undrinkable, but I hoped that cooking off the alcohol and reducing it might show something decent. Unfortunately this wine is awful no matter how you use it. The sauce was too acidic and it had nothing to do with the champagne vinegar. I guess I'll save the remaining bottles to use as anti-freeze in my car this winter. Terrible wine.
