Drank in preparation for/celebration of my long anticipated return to the Mediterranean. Gorgeous weight and texture, the beloved funkiness on both nose and palate. Age your Soave? Maybe not all, but this one definitely pays nice dividends for holding off and tucking it away! Special bottle, as it was the first wine I ever tasted at Waterford from the first anniversary party and my first weekend on the job...same vintage and all! I originally meant to pair this with a meal, but couldn't resist opening it any longer.

Wow, what a climb out of the days of funk and yore. I drank all of my '01s years ago, thinking that the dessicated fruit and earthy nose would never resolve. Not ture as it turned out... this now a beauty.
The frti is compact but full, darkened a touch maybe but with a solid core. The palate has harmonious notes of earthy, savory and fruit, the finish is incredibly lengthy. Again, just beautiful right now.
So maybe Garganega has a dumb phase? Hold 10 years if you want in the prime of its mature life? Or drink before 3?

The forgotten love. I love this years ago when I first had it and then simply forgot about it. While having a crazy O2 note affecting the fruit it was still beautiful.

Lovely ripe fruit, layers of apple and cheese...a presence on the palate that I welcomed with open arms (or mouth) after an amorphous Vienese blend.

Heading more towards age but still with ripe soave-ness showing through. Very good wine. Delicious.
