Apricots, honey and a hint of vanilla on the nose. Rather intense, medium+ bodied and silky on the palate. While this has good acidity, there’s a ripe fruit sweetness to this too. Medium+ length.

Soave & Brunello (Anima e Cuore): Intense and immediately appealing - grapefruit, smoke, expensive French oak, floral tones and oyster shell. It's quite exotic, with lime and mandarin. Broad, textural and juicy on the palate but it's clean and flowing - some chalky grip at the end, tempered by bright acidity. Not sure how I'd get on with a full bottle but I liked this as the most 'La Rocca-y' of a vertical, and as a full bore style you may as well enjoy it when it's big, young and full of life.

Mid golden. Pears, spices, apricots and minerals. This shows more vigor than the Calvarino. Long medium intense finish. Great food wine, but I enjoy it on its own as well. 95 points from Monica Larner, maybe a bit conservative for my palate. 5/13/18/10.

Suckling Wines of the World: the La Rocca and Calvarino were two of my favourite white wines at this event. Notes of honey with great freshness and acidity and beautiful flavor. A lovely wine.

Tasted at Tre Bicchieri NYC. Really nice wine, single vineyard from clay soil that sees 29% new oak in Tonneaux. Nice acidity but not bracing. Really good depth and density. Minerals. Light fruit and florals. Attractive package that isn’t blown up in any dimension but is very well balanced overall.
