Dreamtasting #3 (Bernhard Eifel Restaurant, Trittenheim): Color somewhat darker gold than the first wine, acidity is getting older and more iron-like, but this wine has enough concentration and complexity enough to compensate for that. Impressive definition of dried fruit (apricot, peach, plum, orange-oil). This one was older and dryer than the first wine (Christoffel-Prüm's Würzgarten Feinste Auslese 1971) and therefore was a perfect prelude to the next one (Nicolay Goldwingert Auslese 1949). 18/20 NB.: Label mentioned 'Stirn' which apparantly was a particular plot of the Karthäsuerhofberg in those days.

A weekend with friends in Germany Mosel area: Part 3: Dark yellow and hardly any bouquet. On the palate caramel, some soft acidity and hardly any sweetness left. The wine was mature and still fresh.
