Tasting of 80's Bordeaux at Seattle Wine Storage (Seattle, WA): There was some debate as to whether this wine was corked, so a second bottle was opened. The first showed somewhat darker color. The nose is resinous with some mint. I thought it was pretty clearly corked even before the second bottle was opened. The second bottle has more of a green hue with a distinct Sauvignon Blanc personality, lots of acid and a nice, slatey mineral thing. The 85 point score is for the second bottle.

Tasted this wine as the precursor to several great red Bordeaux. Two bottles were actually opened. Everyone agreed that the first was corked. The first bottle had a hint of musty cardboard in the middle of the nose. The second bottle had a similar nose but it blew off after 20 or 30 minutes and evolved into an incredible grassy / flinty aroma. On the palate this was full and rich with nice fruit and acidity and long finish.
