Beautiful! Great sauvignon blanc freshness with fabulous creaminess. Rich in texture and medium finish. Will evolve no doubt, plan to revisit in 5 years.

Vinetasters: Sauvignon Blanc (Skokie, IL): Served double blind. Slight blue cheese stink on the nose (possibly an oak-related lactone aroma), as well as some apples. Quite savoury on the palate with some good acidity, but overall this is still marred by the astringency of the grape. An oddly disjoint showing with the acidity as if it were off to the side by itself (and the acidity is verjus-like in its sharpness). My 4th (yeah, I really hate sauvignon blanc), group's 3rd.

Tasted double blind. At first fairly muted this blossomed into a wonderful white Bordeaux which has the special Atlantic Ocean fresh- and saltiness combined with a mind-bending soft- and creaminess for a 100% Sauvignon Blanc. While it was easily identifiable as Bordeaux I have guessed it to have a significant portion of Semillon. At first 95 points with the last sips rather in the 96/97 spectrum.
TN: At first only medium expressive on the nose with herbal, grassy and wet stone aromas and with time a lot of nice lychee notes. Wonderfully complex on the palate with lychee, citrus, apple, minimal oxidative notes, amazing minerality with lots of sea salt and with time lots of spearmint notes. Wonderful texture with the superb freshness of young Sauvginon Blanc but an amazing, not heavy or oily creaminess. Perfect texture, period. Medium+ length.
Decanting: Not decanted. Clearly improved with time in the glass, I would decant it at least for 2 hours.

P&P. Lacked expression initially with lower than expected intensity. Flavour profile showing grassy notes, gooseberry fruit but also citrus and lime, in addition rocky and steely mineral notes. Slightly smoky too. On the palate then just a tad oily texture to it, otherwise loads of fresh and crisp acidity, a long finish, fruity and mineral with dazzling floral and perfume notes. Linear and precise, despite a nose showing some restraint, the palate was pretty amazing from the start. But then: Constant improvement over time in the glass, becoming more and more expressive adding hay (rather than grass), much more toast and the fruit transforming entirely into lychee and a bit of passion fruit. If you can't resist, as I couldn't, and need to open a bottle now give it a 30-60min decant. Otherwise probably best to wait 2-3 years.
