  • Opened nicely after 30 min of decanting. Is in a great place right now.

  • Lucien le Moine, or should I say Mr. Mounir, the great storyteller who is convinced he makes the best wine—sometimes he's right, but not always. In the nose, I detected glycerin, cherry, red fruit, and a hint of chalk. In the mouth, there was a very high level of acidity, and it was extremely long. The color was pure and still young; this last characteristic was evident in all the senses: mouth, nose, and color! This wine is truly delightful and is gradually reaching its optimal drinking phase. A beautiful bottle that pairs well with roasted meat or even fish, always a pleasure to uncork and rarely disappoints!

  • AW's birthday dinner (Jade Palace): A good wine no doubt, but not quite ready. Dark-fruited nose, not really giving... This was more impressive on the palate - the dark-fruited tones followed, with great purity, depth and a long finish. One could certainly sense the verve, energy and structure coiled, ready to be unleashed with more bottle-age. Certainly like to re-visit this again, perhaps on its 10th birthday...

  • This bottle was audouzed for more than 12 hours. To be frank, I can't help but think that this could be showing better with just 1-2 hours of air. Very dense and quite opaque in the transparency factor. It's a big wine with structure and dry extract but in this instance the transparency of the 2010 vintage did not show through, making this slightly clunky. Everything is in place for a long aging in bottle though.

  • Barrel: Reduction cannot hide the dark fruit completely. Incredibly concentrated and ripe. This hangs in the mouth for ever. Tannin is already integrated. Exquisite. 4.9
