Still really good. Certainly fruit had aged, but structure and taste still intact. Delicate enough to excel with roast chicken. Top half inch of cork still dry.

WAY over the hill. No stuffing left in this bottle, although mine might not be representative. I gave the opened bottle to a prominent Finger Lakes winemaker who was at my house for dinner and who craved it to make vinegar, which will come back to me. So, not all is lost! Isn't reincarnation wonderful?! That said, we all agreed that we could tell that there was some historical elegance in this wine. It's just way past it's prime.

Getting the near the end but still drinkable
Bricking setting in. Nice aromas but petrol overtones. Still has some fruit fragrance but has certainly declined. Colour is clear and light ruby.
Cork wet more than half way.

Sour cherry with that unmistakable Italian earthiness (mushroom and a hint of leather) you get with good Nebbiolo.
