Lavender, cranberry, tar, and burning leaves to start, with some very pleasant tannins still hanging on 10 years after harvest and a cranberry-juice kind of acidity. As the glass decants, more leather, almost like a leatherbound book, and licorice come out, and the red fruits, rhubarb, sour cherry, pomegranate, and strawberry, are more at the fore. A nice before-the-fireplace sort of wine that I can imagine sitting well alongside some duck or pigeon.

Initially this wine was a bit muted and herbacious. I left half a bottle for the next day and then it showed a whole lot better. Usually I try to follow the development during a few hours, but I wasn’t able to do so in this case. One thing s for sure: this wine needs a fair bit of time to show its best!
Medium-light ruby color. Full aromas of cherry, red berries, milk chocolate and a hint of violets. Full bodied with chewy-smooth tannins and fresh acidity. The fnish is very long and keeps on lingering.
Considering its age and current structure I would expect this wine to age, and probably improve, for at least some 10 more years. Drink now - 2033.

10 years old, fruit is somewhat muted offering a dusty red cherry and some earthy tones. Enjoyable and might be better if consumed 2-3 years earlier.
