From memory, this was a lovely wine with aromas of dark fruit, rose, tobacco, mushroom, and earth. On the palate it was lively and fresh, low to medium tannins very smoothly integrated, warm medium to high acids, long finish. Just delicious.

Three hours of decant time, the nose is an impressive mix of blackberry, anise, leather, black tea. The palate is equally interesting, with plenty of tertiary elements available to experience, including toast and black licorice, with edgy acidity and leathery tannins. This is a complex wine that has aged well and offers an excellent QPR.

Served blind and initially hard to place Garnet ruby Light plum ruby aromas Not a ton of alcohol or structure initially, just sweet plum and violet flavors Firmed up a bit in the glass, but I’d consider drinking soon while so lovely

Plums, lemon, brackish leaf mold, violets, sweet baking spice, and dark bread crust on the nose. Creamy dark fruit on the palate with a salty tannic austerity and a sweet acid charm. Intense floral back notes moving into a long fruit-driven tannic finish. One of the reasons I got into all this was to detect the aging of wines, and this one seems to have an abundance of complex tertiary aromas and a togetherness I don’t remember perceiving before. Excellent with spicy golden tofu and spinach. [Based on this experience I am extending the drinking window for remaining 3 bottles to 2025.]

I enjoyed this far more than the prior bottle. Great earthiness. Good structure. Nice Bandol flavors and structure.
