Aged Raveneau, Dauvissat & Fevre at E&R: Gritty green briar aromas, and some baby diaper notes with oak spice. Some reduction going on here. Palate is smooth in texture, offering rich flavors, but not too much complexity; some nuttiness, more slight diaper, but pretty shut down. Some potatoes? Weird. Nice eruption of intensity and depth on the finish. Really rich with a nice evolving depth and intensity. Really coating, creamy finish. I definitely think something odd was going on here... perhaps this just needed more air, but it felt it was better than it showed. 91?

Gold color. Effusive nose of sea shells, white flowers and lime. Deep and utterly seamless in the mouth, with a powerful minerally streak, candied lemons and a green apple note. Finishes very long, with a lingering note of crushed stone. A thoroughly seductive, generous Preuses that drinks well now but will easily hold for at least anither decade.

Great bottle, and a fantastic example of what it should be. Lemon oil and mineral driven with notes of lanolin. Probably in at a plateau and worth drinking within the next few years.

Oyster shell, lime oil, and honey. The 2002 Les Preuses is classic mature Chablis. Drink soon.
