  • Bright yellow. Strong honeyed character on the nose with orchard fruits, white flowers, gunflint-funk, jasmine, tinned peach, pineapple syrup. A little atypical but 04 was not one of the great years; this seems affected by some botrytis. It’s outstanding nonetheless, but there’s somewhat of a disconnect between the sweet-fruited, candyish aromas and the palate - which is powerful and super-textural of course but finishes mostly dry. Is recognisable as Klaus to me because of the dusty, flinty aromatic character and the massive acid structure on the palate. The length is pretty insane. Memorable.

  • Pungent nose of sweet grasses and melon. Quite mature but still with refreshing acidity and really good, grippy intensity on the complex finish. Nice melon, grass and tangerine flavors lead to a lovely limestone mineral content with notes of smoke and citrus. Very ready now.

  • This is really in a good place right now with a perfect balance between the juicy acidity and mineral-laden fruit. Finishes quite intense with lovely notes of limestone and spice. Delicious stuff and great with food (At Alto, NYC).

  • Lovely nose of orange blossoms, limes and fresh hay. This has really fleshed out nicely with the ripe fruit now balancing out the brisk acidity. The wine is still so fresh and it stood up superbly to pasta al fresca. Finishes fairly complex with notes of spices and minerals. I really like this and it should still improve for several years. 91+

  • Pretty but muted nose of lime, nectarine and honey. Still quite young and lean and dominated at this stage by it's mouthwatering acidity. Quite intense on the finish with flavors of grass, carbonic minerals, lime and orange blossom. Tightly wound and maybe lacks a bit of ripeness in the fruit but I think another year or two in bottle and this will be an attractive, elegant, dry riesling.
