Showed in the same blind line up with the 2010 Block 5, which had the edge. This wine was also very complex with earhty and fruity elements, tertiary notes. Good freshness and lift still after 20 years. Felton Raod is really an absolute top Pinot house. Clearly the best in NZ and one of the best outside of Burgundy.

The last of a six-pack I bought. Deeper red color with some browning creeping in. Sweet strawberry, cherry, and vanilla notes on the nose. Palate is sort of muddied with caramel notes on the cherry and strawberry fruit without any real tertiary character. Went well with the traditional Thanksgiving table. A reminder that I like Felton Road on the younger side.

An Offline for Luke (28-50, London): Nicely maturing, mellow nose. A touch of sweet fruit with some caramel and sous bois. Cherry fruit poking through. Wet hedgerow too. Proper! Lovely attack, a little light on the finish cf the attack but this is very nice indeed. Sweet-fruited and overall a very nice style. ****

Medium-dark red color. Slightly jammy aromas of cherry, allspice, sage, and tea. Flavors of black cherry, tea, cinnamon, plum, and tomato leaf. Medium-long finish with some maple notes showing. Less cloying than past bottles, which were sweeter in palate presentation. Drinking well now. Drink or hold.

200 Burgundy Grand Crus from vintage 2000, 4-day blind tasting (Singapore): Pirate bottle. Now we are talking. Very complete, floral, sour cherry, meaty, sucrosité intermixed with a little green asparagus.
